Tree hugger, mountain hiker, stream forger, rock climber, ice skater, off-road driver. You get the picture. He takes the road less travelled. Jury's still out on whether or not that has made all the difference.

Prefers to avoid the limelight and yet supports others in the limelight through his work with the state's film industry. He also works with the zoo and national parks. (Duh. See above.)

Also provides support and leadership to the profession, locally and globally. We know it's a hardship going to all those meetings in warm, exotic locales. But Jim's always willing to take one for the team.

Believes in collaboration, cooperation, and consensus. Really good at making you think it was your idea. Your decision. Your vacation that should be postponed in order to address a pressing client need.

Acts like a grown-up when he has to. But he'll never reach that status. His co-workers and his kids have come to accept this.

Contends less is more.
